i need to replace my conrod (fs 650) '04 after 300h !!!!but i want to replace my older crank with the bell crank because it's much stronger i think. i've heard the conrod isn't as strong as the old one and it last for 150h maximum! i don't use c/b and my motor revs 11.000rpm...what is your opinion? should i keep the same crank and replase the conrod or to use a bell crank?your help please!!!!

Seems if you got 300 hours on the old rod spinning it to 11,000 with no C/B, it really could not be a bad set up.How much better could it get? :thumb:

hi, no way your motor is reaching 11.000 rpm .
if it did you would propably be a sponsored world championship supermoto rider, your bike would have about 80hp , you wouldnt own it, no way it would have reached 300h and you wouldnt worry about a freaking rod because someone else would pay for it!

It's true, a 650 with a few modifications runs 11'000 rpm without a problem. My original 450 engine (so nothing "tuned") did 10500 rpm. If it's good for the engine itself that's another case...

on 11000 rpms and using a 2004 crank with a 82mm stroke this would mean
30.00666 m/s linear speed.

Just with a faster cam and a Woessner or Wiseco piston (so it won't break down in a minute) it will. I admit i haven't seen it myself, but if my old engine could run 10500 without modifications, why shouldn't a 650 with some small adaptations can't do it. The thing you need most of all is a good carburattor and a good adjustment of it.

its all on the stroke-this is why your 450 could "afford" 10500rpms.

a fast cam and a woessner piston (garbage) wont give you extra revs.
max revs are limited by the ignition.

its just impossible !

i think their is no aftermarket rod 135mm to fit in a 650cc engine, 600 is very expensive for a rod!

please put it and your bike in your signature

taffy i own a 650cc 2004, i have done a few mods and as i had said to you i'm still looking for a high comp piston...i'm waiting a reply for a custom made cp piston from vf racing...

the wossner is too heavy and it doesn't increase the compression ratio much, cp is much lighter with better lubrication. I want to reach 12,4-5:1

There may be small inaccuracies here but the basic gist is right. There are some basic differences here. Ffor a start the conrods are different. 300 are longer which is 140mm, With corresponding piston differences. 533 flywheels are also 1mm thinner where the the pin goes through and the hole is larger.

300 and 533... are these partial numbers from the old part# system ? or ... some more specific info be nice

i'm just wondering the longevity of these composite rods compared to the std rod.
i know if i go that way next time,i will have put a heavier spring in the relief valve to force more oil to the bigend, but if everything is done as it should be done, how does it last? anyone?
..weed..
