I have dismantled my engine a couple of times now, changed the main bearings, and corrected a problem regarding the sprocket for Kickstarter which the former owner had mounted in the wrong way, so the shaft and gear were bad, I checked and cleaned the engine inside.

It starts an sounds perfect and drives great now :)

I ran it for an hour after the rebuild, but there is what I think is a lot of debris in the Olie mesh filter and on the magnetic plug?
Is that normal to a Husaberg?

The cam chain tensioner was also broken after my ride?
I don't now why i broke?

Pull the tensioner out and have a look? like you say, it shouldn't have broken?

It's a job to know where the steel is from but I suspect the main bearings. it is though, only a guess!

regards

Taffy

It seems someone made a `mechanical`timing chain tensioner out of the existing one?
Either way the tensioner has got a 10mm hex screw normally.
Seems someone altered it...maybe there was too much pressure onto the tensioner blade and the tensioner snapped...?

I had this issue and luck was on my side. The engine didn't have a rattle, a small oil leak on the head gasket. Hence the reason for removing the head. I also didn't like the look off the oil. So glad I did as it could have let go at anytime and cost me a fortune. Thanks Taffy for the new cam chain.

Not sure, the bike has been rebuilt in the past. I just know I'm lucky it didn't let go on me. I purchased the bike cheap but I never got round to riding it in anger.
