spacer or frame

Hi all, Replacing the rear pedal after full disassembly - a bit confused since when I follow the manual’s sequence of spacers, spring, frame, etc - the pedal sits out too far from the frame. Wondering if someone has some up close photos of the assembly, that’d be great. Thx, C
