popping

Hi! So my problem is that whenever I use the e-start on my bike it makes a bang just before it starts. Almost every time. Sometimes it is hardly noticeable and sometimes it makes a great bang like a fire cracker. It runs great otherwise. What can this be? Thx, Tom
