    06 FE550 Camshaft orientation in respect to sprocket

    Hi All, I tried to get the head off my 06FE550 over the weekend and in a senior moment tried undoing the sprocket from the camshaft to endeavor to get the cam chain off without cutting it, I have since been told by the dealer I have to replace the camchain even though it has only done 35 hours...

    Circlip orientation

    Do you have any preference for the wrist pin clip? My thought is to put the gap pointing straight down so the opening is a little past the removal groove. That way when it's time to remove it, I am prying up near the end of the clip. Might make it easier to install or remove.

    Piston ring orientation

    I dismantled my '95 FE 350 motor without noting the orientation of the top piston ring. One side of the ring is recessed on the entire inside circumference. Does the recessed side face up, down or does it not matter? Thanks, Greg
