fuelling

I've got a 97 berg 400FE The tic over is erratic and the plug is soot black (dry not oily). I'ts got a 170 main jet, 266 needle jet 51 needle and there's two other jets in there one is a 45 and the other is 55. Has anyone got any ideas. Thanx chippy :?
