97 or 99

Hello all, first post here and brand new to Husaberg. Just purchased a 97 FE501 which is decent but well used. Have a chance to get a 99 FE501 with much lower time and considering for a parts bike. How compatible are these two bikes? Can I interchange major components like the engine, body work...
