Are there any quick wins with the stock valve?
If Anyone can point me to a good shim thread for any bike with the WP 48mm OC forks I would appreciate it.
Or, if there are any "standard" shim stacks to try, please let me know. I understand rider weight and such makes a difference - just...
Can someone please identify what’s going on here? Is this correct?
1-?
2-leaving motor to thermostat
3-from lower rad to pump
4-thermostat min flow bypass?
5-from thermostat to rad
Thanks!
I found a few things wrong in the workshop manual, and online shops for the 70 degree bikes, regarding the crankshaft and woodruff keys. It seems like all you need is one woodruff key for the flywheel but you also need one for the timing chain sprocket and one for the primary drive.
Lets look...
Ok so yet again it seems that my 70deg tank is fixed (knock on wood!!!!).
The trouble is that there is a lot of pressure buildup inside the tank. Very often fuel spits out every hole posible. Through the airhose for example....
Ok so I didn't conect the two air hoses (from the front and the...
The good news is that my subframe tank is now fixed. Dont ask how yet, i'll try to do a write-up when its properly tested. The bad news is that somwhere during the process the fuel line that connects the two tanks has been lost. The one that has the qick-connect in the middle and that is shaped...
Hi guys
Tried to search abut this but can't seem to find an answer... i'm trying to find some black plastics for my 2011 FE570 but not quite sucessfull at it. Who made those black plastics? I wouldn't want to end up painting the blue ones, paint looks like crap on plastics.
Thanks
Hi!
I recently bought a used 70degree tank for my 570 and I keep on having issues with it. I didnt have a manual but I guess its pretty much self explanatory. Anyway I have it connected but my main problem (appart from the fact that it had a leak and I had to fix it...) is that the fuel keeps...
Hi guys.
Just checked my clearances on a 2012 FE390 @ 115hrs.
Both intakes are in middle of spec at 0.13mm (0.10 - 0.15 spec).
Exhaust valve on cam chain side is at 0.15mm and exhaust valve on header side is at 0.20!! (0.12 - 0.17 spec).
Should I change the shim on the exhaust at 0.20?
It is...
I have now had this problem on two of my 2009 FE570's.
The oil turns to brown milky paste and you can see it overfill in the sight glass. The coolant level is down. Draining the oil you find there is more than it should have. The bike could even have a drivability problem such as a stumble...
So the stock FE390 headlight is dull..
$70 will fix that.

Riding today in the forest today it dawned on me that my 70 deg FE450 is actually still a great bike.
For instance, there has been very heavy rain here in QLD over the past two days, but i went out for a blast in the forest anyhow. I came across a few creek crossings that were up pretty high...
After having the y fitting in radiator hoses fail on my 2010 FX450 at race a couple of weeks back and seriously overheating the motor. I had some concerns about the piston, then during an enduro last weekend it started blowing coolant out the overflow. So I decided to tear it down and replace...
hey guys im pretty new here but just wondering if there is any perfomance mods for the new 70deg engines out yet? im thinking about racing the finke next year and want some more power out of my 570. I already have the Akro pipe and adjustable mapping, and port plished the head
thanks
Hi All,
I've had a 70deg aux tank fitted on my 390 Berg for a few months now and last weekend I noticed fuel running down the side of the bike from under the seat. The leak only occurs when the bike is filled to the brim which made me think that the tank vent was the culprit, but I've traced it...
