    Turning a -04 644 into a 628

    Hey guys, I've had a question bugging me for a while. Is the 628 crank, conrod and piston a bolt-on part for the -04 644? Thinking of doing this once I get rid of the 644 crank. It should last 100 hours more, will see if that's enough for the short but cold finnish summer. :giggle...

    bits of this build don't really fit anywhere so ill put them here I'm building a 628 from bits i have laying around, only stuff i really had to buy were cases head crank/piston. Big thanks to Mopwer for a smoking deal on these parts.. best ever internet shopping deal.

    644 vs 628

    Currently looking at a fs650e 2005. This has the 644 engine correct? And is there any difference in the engines other than the crank? Is the 628 the better choice? Thanks in advance.

    heads up 628 rod clearence

    put a new rod kit in 20 hrs ago found some flakes on the drainplug 2 oil changes in a row lower end of the rod is a little larger than the original and lightly contacts the crank when the piston is under full steam I think on the power stroke. it doesn't contact checking by hand so the crank...

    http://ktmtalk.com/index.php?s=d2867e84 ... pic=360272 any one done our version of that ? rework the 09 frame pop in a 628 or 644 itd be sensational Id think, nice big engine potentially 700cc with a good chassis. I don't have the funds but someones gotta have a go
