I'm taking about a steering dampner.

I recently installed a Gpr underbar unit on the fe550 2005 which raised by bars 30mm.
At first i was concerned about the extra bar height.
But I have found this to be better than standard as I'm tall (6foot3") and better for standing up.
I can now rail down hills faster, rocky terrain and less arm pump.

Money well spent, wish I had been using them 10 years ago.

What company did you go with as far as the hardware for your under bar set-up? I have a Scott's damper mounted to my '05 Husaberg using the Fastway hardware, but it is the above bar setup.

I'm also using the factory bar risers (with a tall seat) to gain a little room there.

Scotts makes an under bar mount for their damper. I have one on my 04. You just have to get an old style steering stem nut so that the damper will clear. I have also helped Scott's set a couple more for Cheeseberger's bikes. Call Scott's @ 818-248-bike and talk to either Steve Zollinger or Eric Vargo.
