Good decision on their part IMO since I am currently a KTM owner but have always been partial towards Bergs.

definately husaberg owners gain from that one but i think that divided we all fall.

keep it hear-keep it real!

Now that the 'berg is showing signs of strength, everybody wants to be on the band wagon...

Jasn's held the torch through thick and thin... that's the credo that has kept all of us around for so long. No need to look further.

Hey Jasn, when's that KTM section coming on-line???

Direct link is HERE.

Pat's not a dummy. He makes his money by advertisements and memberships, and pulling in another brand can only help in that matter.

IMO, it's a much more feasible attempt at enlarging your membership base than say, oh I don't know, THUMPERTalk adding a two smoke section to their site.

That said, I think Pat's well on his way to being what TT and DR.net is; a place to go if you want almost enough information on anything from kitchen sinks to motorcycles. As soon as you get that big, you lose your techies to sites that cater to their interests.

re: KTM section

Hi guys,

Powercell & LeFrog,

If you're serious, not out of spite towards KTMT, but think it'd be a good idea, my brother(a KTM owner) had voiced the idea of a KTM forum a few weeks ago, and said he'd moderate it. He said he has some general questions sometimes concerning the KTM, but doesn't care to visit the other forums. After the Moab ride, I see quite a few visitors here own KTM's, so I don't mind at all. Also, I get to see my brother here more often, so I'm happy :)

What do you think? it would be just for general disc, and common questions I think, any more than that, and we would just direct them to KTMTalk.

thanks,

one of the toughest things in life is to work out whether you hold a lot or a little. that old saying about a bird in the hand ... is true. what we have we hold!

i wouldn't even think about KTM. you'll just look bloody useless at it and 'after the lord mayors show' as it's known here!

the days of covering everything are gone.

quality has to go up! that's why TT's exotic section has got no F......... chance at all. i mean not even a sniff!!!!!!!!

the days of expanding and being crap at everything instead of good at one thing have gone.

the seats are taken in 'pass the parcel' don't be jealous-sh..... happens as you would say!

this site has so much to lose and very little to gain from any of these ventures!

this site will grow on the back of huseys success! you don't have to do a thing but hold on and cope with the changes that will be needed and deemed necassary!

we ride the best bike and it just got better! if it gets really good then husaberg will be very big!

regards

Taffy

Uhhh....I -think- I agree with you Taffy, if my English ---> American translator is working correctly :)

Personally speaking and with all due respect:
"I would truly hate to see this site diluted with KTM content"

Sincerely,
Dale

I'd still like to know about KTM's (eg. if they have used Husaberg R&D etc), as they are the parent company of Husaberg. Please keep in mind that KTM has the final say as to the direction Husaberg takes. It would be a good idea for all Husaberg owners to keep a close eye on KTM to make sure it keeps Husaberg's best interests at heart and not just its own brand.
Definitely DO NOT include forums for any other manufacturers.

This is just my humble opinion

Cheers
Mark

I was semi-joking about adding a KTM section.

What I think is this: the Internet is big enough for both Husagerg.org and KTMtalk.com (let's call them KT) but also TT and a bunch of others.

Many know that TT is a good haven for owners of bikes like the DRZ 250 (no comment) who have no other chance to find info or start threads on their bike anywhere else.

But TT is way too specialized in my opinion and not enough at the same time. Too much because you cannot start a general thread on 4-stroke technology in a general forum. You'd have to first pick a model-specific forum and do it. Not enough because there is no way you can have the level of information about KTMs as you get on KT (where you can get a lot of junk as well) and the same works for Husaberg with this Web site.

I don't think a KTM forum would be necessary here but if your brother wants to help and moderate it, just give it a shot. After all it's only a few megs on a hard drive, as you know, and a few more records in a database.

If we are to have another brand section, I like Powercell's idea of having a proletariat or common bike section. Any brand other than Husaberg could be discussed there. I vote "no" on a specific KTM section, as that would make us look like KTMtalk copycats.

I vote with Taffy- stay with what we know. Use my employer Hewlett Packard, for example. They used to be good at what they did- high quality products and focused on them. Now, they have their hand in everything, and are good at not much (other than printers). And their stock has dropped from $150 to ~$20 for their expansion efforts.

So, stay exclusively with what we know. If I want to know about my KTM, I drop onto the KTM site. When I want to read about Husabergs, I come here.

What is UHE?
Said site is and has been for many years the Husaberg dealers / owners best friend. Often times their only friend. Although not recognized as such UHE is and has been for years the official "unofficial" website of Husaberg.

How will a KTM section benefit Husaberg dealers / owners?

For the record:
I believe including KTM to be a very bad idea.

respectfully,
Dale

Put the gun down Dale, I've only been kiddin' ya'... :D

Berg, only berg... Sheeeeeeeeeeesh...

hey guys, please calm down. It was simply a suggestion, and I simply liked it because I get to spend more time w/my bro. Nobody's trying to water the site down, take over KTMTalk or copy them.

As I always do, I ask, and as you always do, you answer me honestly(and passionately), and as we always do collectively, we move on with the new information.

Happy thoughts everyone,

Hey Jasn -

If you wanna spend more time with your bro, tell him to sell the pumpkin and join the fold!

One-of-us, One-of-us, One-of-us, One-of-us, One-of-us, ...
