Ok, so I bought an Ebay special last summer and barely have the time to rebuild it into a SuperMoto with a new daughter in the house.
The engine kicked over easy when I purchased it, (advertised by seller as quiting 3 years ago and then parked outside) and much to my displeasure I find an engine full of mudwater during teardown - no wonder it "broke down" - hurray !
Anyway my 2000 600 model E-start seems to be giving me fits, with massive cylinder head and carb corrosion being the least of my problems. During the attempt to pull the flywheel it would not budge at all. I spray the shaft and woodruft key with Kroil once a week and give the puller a slight twist for the past few months. The last slight twist ended with a BANG and the outer portion of the flywheel laying on the table................................ with the freaking inner portion still on the shaft ! WTF?
I am sure a torch will be involved here but I really need some advice to proceed. Maybe take a dye grinder and try to cut through some of the metal, heat it with a torch and try to split the remainder of the flywheel?
And to think that this was supposed to be a semi-affordable project!
Thanks to all for any assistance...................
