Would it fit into an old berg frame ?

I had nothing to do over the weekend so thought i would have a go at fitting an FX 450 motor into an old 525 exc frame, Well it wont go, which is bit of a bummer now have loads of ktm parts to get rid of.
Anyone think the 70 degree motor would fit into an old style Husaberg frame without too much cutting ? :)
 
Is it really worth all the effort? Nothing would fit up i'd imagine
 
I'm trying to find something to do with an engine thats been sat on my bench for 6 months. :lol:
 
the intake tract points straight at the "airbox" could be a problem

but the old engine into the new frame would work and is worth doing

the old frame geometry and the suspension components used on it are no good IMHO. the weight distribution, geometry, tank/seat layout and resulting general feel leave a lot of room for improvement.

the new engine should work OK in any perimiter frame setup, there are heaps of rolling chassis on motors.ebay.com
