Hi,

I just picked up my new 09 450FE. Does anyone know if you can get or has a workshop manual for this bike as it would be real handy.

Thanks

MARK

You are not the first to ask about this. It used to be that the manuals were posted for free down load at the .com site but that has happened, yet anyway.

You may have to check with your dealer about ordering one.

Hi Guys

This was a posted a while ago by kxf440 "i've got one & i've turned it into an iso image so i can upload it as a torrent to mininova. i'll let you know when it's up.

it's up on mininova search software for "2009 Husaberg repair manual.rar""

enjoy"

I had a look a few times but could not find it.

I'll PMing him.

Regards Steve

Thanks guys.

I appreciate your help and advice. I have downloaded data and will have a look when I finish work.

I manage to get out and start to run the Berg in this weekend with some supermoto wheels on her. She is feeling good. I can’t wait to get her on the dirt. The bike feels so light on the move and real smooth power.

Fellows.

Once again thanks for all your help.

I now just got to work out how much I need to strip off the bike to be able to check the valve clearance, as I not worked on the bike before. I assume you can get to them with the motor in the frame. I assumed once you got the tank, and air box off you should have enough room.

As anyone had much problem with valve need re-shimming on 3-hour service (or come to that any other time) ?

Hi Mark,

The "hardest" job is to dismount and mount the reservoir. The smallest 1/4 inch ratchet set you can find would be very handy. Teng Tool makes a couple of very nice sets.

- take of the seat,
- take off the tank spoilers, or at least one side.
- NO NEED TO TAKE OFF THE AIRBOX
- dismount the black plastic sub-frame, six bolts.
the middle two bolts need special attention: start with the first two most forward
screws, than loosen one of the two middle screws, leave the two screws that hold the
sub-frame and rear-fender in place for the last.
Now move the arm of the black plastic support outwards so that you can put a 12 mm
spanner on the aluminum threaded tube and undo the screw on the opposite side.
If you don't do it this way it might happen the the aluminum tube will loose it's
embedded position in the tank.
- undo the electrical connection to the fuel-pump
- disconnection the fuel line quick-release
- take off the tank.

- now undo the left- radiator screws, the ones that mount the left radiator to the chassis.
you can leave the right-hand radiator in place.
- Undo the carter ventilation hose
- NOW COMES THE SPECIAL TOOL IN ACTION.
- Take of the four screws holding the rocker cover, it is possible to undo the two M6 bolts
on the right-hand side with the small ratchet set.
the alternative is to loose the right-hand radiator to get better access.

-now follow the instructions in the repair manual to check the valve clearance.

My experience with the 4 FE 2009 bikes I use is very positive. They accumulated 42.000 km and adjustments are seldom needed and far apart.
I'm confident that the tappets don't need to be adjusted. Just make a note of the clearances for future reference.

hope this is of any help,
cheers, Adriaan

Adriaan,

Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.

In fact you may remember me as I came out to your place with a group of guys, Roy Bellet, Mike Page and Graham Eaton for a weekend riding on you previous Bergs. How’s business for you these days.

We had a great time. I had a 450EXC at the time and have just changed it to FE450 which is looking good so far.

Regards,

I do remember your group although it's difficult to remember faces. I looked it up: April 2007.

Bookings are good, financial situation could be better but we're happy with what we do and that's the only thing that really matters.

Good to hear that you have a brand new Husaberg. Did your experience with Algarve-Offroad helped in your choice for Husaberg?

cheers,
Adriaan
