OK, I replaced my stator and still no luck  .........so, I start poking around and the black and red wire has completely corroded the post off the back of the ignition switch.

After looking around nobody has the correct switch in stock. So I bought a couple of other ignition keyswitches. The original keyswitch had 4 posts:

BROWN - I presume this is ground
ORANGE - looks to go to ignition and light switch
RED/BLACK - Battery
RED/WHITE - Goes everywhere it seems regulator/horn etc...

QUESTION: What has to connect to what for it to be ignition switch in on position? I threw the old corroded one away  and the wiring diagram is way too vague.

If the key ignition mine had two yellows pins 3 and four the other one go on the other two pins 1 and 2.

BROWN and ORANGE should be connected to the to pins that show continuity when ignition is turned off.
(pins 1 and 2 on the switch?)
RED/BLACK and RED/WHITE should be connected to the pins that show continuity after you turned on the ignition.
(pins 3 and 4 on the switch?)
Check out the wiring diagram for the 2003 model, just exchange the colors codes.

regards

Nick
