I'm wondering if my '08 fe550 will be ok for a 4hr enduro this Sunday. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and haven't had the chance to ride it yet (apart from once down the street :( ). It has 6.7 hrs on it and has had an oil and filter change.

I went to local mx track today to run it in further after being told the track was open, but when I arrived they informed me that it wasn't so a 75 mile trip for nothing! Anyway because of this I've not been able to run it in for the stated 15 hrs, 50% and 75% throttle etc.

The enduro on Sunday is in a big forest so can't imagine it will be full throttle, just wondering if it will be ok.... :?

Cheers
Steve

I say ride it as you normally would. I would not hesitate.

Cheers, that made for some very interesting reading, I think the bike will be fine, I've done a fresh oil and filter change and checked the screen. It all seems spot on and like I said it's already done 6.7 hrs so should be ok.

Yeah how do I change my name to SteveFE550 then?

It is what it is, 6.7 hrs at those hours mine was getting full throttle. I just wouldn't buzz the engine at high rpm's or lug it too low.

Send a private message to schwim (Jason), the god and master of UHE. I changed mine a few years back.

don't chop the throttle to full closed after a WOT high rpm burst :)

its instinctive to do so... ooh i give her a fair whak better give it a rest, its better to pull the clutch as you close the throttle.

its supposed to be the highest loading a crank and rod sees? and a few guys sais they did their mains after doing that

regards
Bushie
