Hey all,
looking to find a sprocket for the rear but having a hard time, want to get a 43t or 44t but not having any luck coming up with one, anybody know where to look? or if a sprocket from something else more popular would fit?

You might check and see if the ones from the Swedish built Husqvarnas ('87 and ealier) would fit - I know the countershaft spockets do. BTW, why do you want to go that fast? My '96 FE501 with stock gearing topped out around 100 mph and I believe the rear was a 48T. I never did check the top speed on the '02 FE650 I used to have or my current '05 FE550, but I'm sure it is the same as my old 501, if not a bit faster.

My fe600 came with 15/42 gearing, i have a 16t countershaft sprocket but its tooo slow with the 42t on the back, i drive on the road a lot and just wanted the 43t/44t to go with th 16t counter, its not to actually go that fast but to be at a better rpm for fuel economy/engine longevity when at 55-65 mph, it is doable with 16-42 on the road, ok in the fields, but not good in the woods or rocks...just trying to get something a little better for both...

it seems 42 or 48 can be had with some searching but anything in between is nill. with a 16 counter, 48 is to high 42 to is low. JT seems useless with this model for some reason, i have a call in at motoxtica as of about 5 minutes ago just waiting for response, other than that sidewinder replied to email and says that they can do one of a few options but i assume its custom made and quite a bit higher price than the 35-50 bucks i was going for, i may just be better off getting a second rear rim/tire/chain and swap out the whole thing for offroad/onroad driving versus finding a gearing in the middle...i was just keeping the stock 42 rear and switching between the 15/16 counter sprockets which i guess is still an option, spose i have some thinking to do...

thanks for the replies everyone

great info guys!
i figured they were out there i just didnt look hard and long enough to find the little guys who can get them, think i have another problem that just popped up now ill have to get that resolved first though :( i think my stator is just starting to take a poo :cuss: better than a hole in the engine though......
