It's on the front side of the water pump housing in the clutch cover.

thanks I will have a look.... it is an 2008 450 and it can't be leaking as I would have seen it. I expected it to be on the water pump housing, but could not see it... so will have another look tomorrow.

it's behind your waterpump at the 4 o clokc position.

that's if we are on about your 600?

got it, looked at the spot with a tourch tonight. Small hole, a bit of dust around it and hard to see. I don't think that means it has been leaking... I think it it good I found it hard to find. probably means it has not been leaking.

Taffy, this is an 08 450, not the 600 with the pump up the top with the weep hole at 4 oclock. OK you have flushed me out... first berg 1992 fe350 did about $30,000km with only oil change and roller rockers. In two day endoro gearbox went and I complained, but even xr honda owners thought I was expecting too much...anyway sent it away in parts and got a replacement 1996 fe 501, not as light but better and I went faster despite believing the smaller capacity is easier to ride. Did about $40,000 with only broken never to use again regina chains and roller rockers. Broke 2nd gear going up a steep rocky hill in second gear.... rode home fixed it that day while others watched in shock and horror. Six months later sixth gear gave up. Sent the bike away in bits and replaced it with an fe600 electric start (I sold out). Rode much much faster in all conditions, did 35,000km without any problems at all exept replacing roller rockers. Sold bike to happy customer and have played with a 650 while watching the the 09 unravel. <..... then chose the 08 450 not the 09 for reasons I don't wish to reveal. Don't know much about this 08 450 motor.... but due to past experience hope to get at least $30,000 hard km without doing much work....you will find out if my plan goes astray.
