Hi all,
Thinking of doing something I have never done before, that is, getting a couple of sets of wheels and tyres for my fe650.

It is a pretty stunning bike, and cannot think of a all round tyre like say on a XR or TT

So, maybe a more road style set up, a rocky type, and a dedicated sand, paddles.

Never having bought new rims, is there any better, prefered ?

Sand is my love, but if I get paddles, then unless I get very good at changing tyres, im somehat stuck for any other form of riding, hence the 2 or 3 sets idea.

I get my wheelsets from kieth at KSRwheels

Talon hubs (KTM) are great, very tough I broke 2 KTM OEM hubs in 1000km

the rims, aparently the best now are the smpro platinum but ive never used one

if I were to get another set of wheels Id get Buchanan carbon steel spokes for the paddle as my bike breaks the HD stainless ones regularly.

I have 2 sets of wheels , this is a great setup because eventually i realized there should be another bike attached to the second set.

I run bolts to stop the paddles coming off with a michy bib mousse (from rocky mnts atv) inside

this paddle has done over 4000km and has spent 6 months on the back of a hayabusa

160hp busa paddle roost !

you gotta love the sand..

is that little wooden rowboat still parked at the lake at sheringa beach?

Mate have no been out anywhere much for a long time, building a sand 4wd mini monster, and being fifo, 1 week a month off, darnit. Hope this time home will be the new diffs and suspension, then get out n play down there. Most of my time is in the BHP sandhills, all alone.

Im in Mackay working, this is where the husy is, just bought a car up from home so if I get a day I can get the bike somewhere decent to have some fun.

It will go home at the end of this contract, few months, then the paddles, mmmm

its not broken

its still on my bike and has done over 4000km

the bolts stop the paddles being ripped off at the base. without the bolts I get maybe 10 hrs out of a paddle before it is destroyed.

problem is that with the bolts you can't use a tube ... mousse is the go.

The go fast square wheels link works, it opens and you have the opening post, on that post there is two links for you tube, no idea whats in there, I asume on the build, but the links are dead.
