What's the function of this hole, in the parts diagram it looks like a channel wich goes into the oil level sight glass.

I have oil coming out of that hole, what's the reason and more importantly how do I solve it :) ?

RE: What

oil is picked up and shoved out along a horizontal gallery on the left of your engine. you may have noticed that later engines get a squirt to the underside of the piston from there. it then gets to the end and turns left to leave the engine and go down to the crank.

the drilled gallery away from the engine they can do with the cover laid down on it's face but the one you are on about has to be drilled where you see it - down to the crank!

now i would like to put an oil pressure gauge on there so if you care to undo it, check the thread width and pitch for me (i'd be grateful) before loctiting it and putting it back together.

RE: What

Yeah I swore I seen the same on mine, not sure. Got a crank breather hose coming because mine is cracked and leaking a bit of oil down the engine.

So I take it you have got it all sorted now?

Don't know yet, took the plug out and loctited it back, but didn't have time for a test drive.
