Hey guys,

I recently got two sets of used plastic for my 1998 'berg. However, it appears that there might be some plastic from a different year, perhaps 1997? Can anyone identify the plastic below for the model year. As well, if anyone is interested I will be selling the non-1998 plastic.

Shayne,

They look like 99's to me. When I had the 97 I had a hell of a job finding original panels, and have definately seen these type before.

What you have is UFO plastic made for 1997 and earlier. For a 1998 and later you will have to make small brackets to make them fit the sides.I have some on my 1997 and 1998 saving the originals for later.

I possibly could be wrong as i have never seen any other set of plastic save the set on my 98- but that set looks identical to the faded 98 fluorecent that is on my bike- soon to be switched out for standard yellow off of a 97. i believe you can tell by the rear fender- on 98 the fender mounts with the two holes on top of the fender on a 97 the holes Are on the side...

correct me if i am wrong

The plastic sidecovers on my 1998 fc 600 will not fit my 1997 fc600. I have UFO plastic on both bikes but I hade to make a 1'' approx bracket one on each side to make them fit.It almost looks like two washers welded together they are very close. And the 1997 plastics on my fc 600 are the floresent yellow color. The ones in the picture are just like mine.

Thanks for all the input guys. It is indeed a strange set. I now have in total: 3 front fenders (yellow and black) that all fit, 4 left rad shrouds (all fit but one of them has only two "open spaces" as opposed to the three opening on my '98 ), 3 right rad shrouds (once again, one with only two openings but it has a FC decal on it), two sets of side panels (including the strange set that is previously pictured), and three rear fenders (inclunding the one previously pictured).

I have tried the non-'98 plastic on my bike. It simply does not fit. Coronaberg you are right, a bracket would have to be made. The side panels simply do not match up.

Minnija2, the rear fender on my 1998 has the two mounting holes on the side, not the front. Obviously different then yours. The pictured rear fender would fit my bike but it would leave a gap as the fender slopes backward from the mounting screws as opposed to forward on my '98.

I have been collecting spare parts for my 'berg and am now at a position where I will not use these plastics. I have decided that this bike will remain with me until my dying days. I will get a new 'berg but I will never sell this one. I believe that 1998 was perhaps one of the best years for Husaberg. My bike has been bulletproof.

When they lay my body in the hull of the viking longship and set it aflame on the water, this bike will go with me!

Shayne,

We're going to tell you when you're dying that we put your bike on the longship awaiting your arrival.

But in reality, we're going to keep it for the site mascot.... I mean come on, we're NOT going to burn your bike....and well, .... you'll be dead.

It's a no-brainer...
