It`s an -02 i think.

I'll bet that it's an 02 .... Looks like the engine # is 651 2 .... 651=650. 2=2002. Could be an fs or something converted to that. Is that a catch can under the carb?

Read the owners document then ask what has been done to it.

Its an 02 allright. My 2002 had the same setup as this one. The muffler, fork guards, the electronics on the starter all the same. Also the same black wheels as well. Oh and one oil drain plug is also for pre 2003.

it could still be a 2001 upgraded but I also agree that it looks like a 2002.

the only way to to tell is the engine and frame number as well as the back of the crankcases but I often forget what I'm looking for!
