Hello, I am going to replace my rear with a new Kenda Trakmaster 2. Problem is that there are two main sizes that I can choose between:
K-760 110/100-18 - wide
K-760 120/100-18 - wider
(and K-760 100/100-18 ) - narrow

I see that the rear has already rubbed some on the exhaust... so what is the best width to get... or max width allowable in this case.

I have the 120 on my 01... No problem. I would stay away from the track master front. Just my preference though. I find it washes out too easy.

Shucks... it already has a TM2 on the front...

Not trying to start another "which tire" thread...

But, which tire is better than the TM2 on the front (must be cheap, must be road legal)?

What kind of terrain is the most crucial? Does it have to last on pavement?

I like the t63. But, I don't worry if the tire I'm running isn't road legal. You can use a die grinder to remove the "not for hiway use":)

I will likely be riding 50% road 50% dirt. Mostly dirt... not very rocky...not very sandy... lots of mud. I do not want a 50/50 tire though because I would rather sacrifice on-road performance for off-road performance. For this reason, it should be able to reasonably last on the pavement (or be adequately cheap that the wear doesn't matter).

Example, I can buy a new TM2 Front for $50. So I could go through 2 of these tires for every one Dunlop/Pirelli/etc.
Same for rear, but $60.

Didn't stated wat width one u got on now ? That has rub marks?

Dunlop 120 on mind , (not legal road) or one that's very similer to 752 but in road legal "Aust" forgot number
Not sure 120 pirelli mt 21 (rear only ) one il be trying if was 50/50

Sumthing weight up if u want keep changing
tyres prices u get wat u pay for
Quote 50- 60$ go thro 2x tyres price of one ?
Just my 2cent

You might love the tm. The woods close to you are very sandy. You will have to judge for yourself how you like them. I only got 1500km out of mine ....front was shagged. You should get out to Baxter once the forests open. I try to get out one evening a week. Could be fun ....a couple 650's in the single track .

What is the "tm"? I looked up T63. Seems like a fat, low tire for heavier bikes, no? ...maybe not, I looked closer. The T63 is road legal pretty sure.

Sorry, but that was mostly incomprehensible. Bike currently has Michelin S12 XC Soft Intermediate Tire. Cannot tell width from photos (bike isn't at my house right now). Seems like a 130/80 width.

Tm = track master
T63 = Michelin t63 tire
I only got 1500 km out of a front kenda track master
You are very close to some great riding areas. Baxter tract is very close to Borden (just south outside village of baxter) motorcycles are allowed.

Btw, michelin s12's are great tires up here.

Keep in mind, the sizes differ between brands, some 110/100's look like 100/100's....:eek: Sandy or muddy with the 650 I'd run 120, but you'd be fine with the 110. If you're looking for less expensive, the 110's are $10 cheaper than the 120's down here....:happy: I'd try the 110 first and if you like it try the 120 when it wears out. :D
