I`am thinking about installing a headlight on my bike.I had a 55w light on my bike before.Since I have a new engine with no battery I`am divided on putting the old light on or installing smaller duals{55w x2} or should I just add one.I was thinking the more light the better especially after dark. Both yellow wires are hooked up.This will not hurt anything if I decide to use duals will it?

Bill

I have twin 55 watt h/lights fitted to my bike, the UFO type, no probs so far. I only ride in the bush but at least other riders can see me coming.

Bill, I was asking about this a few weeks ago... The output from the motor is 140W. So twin 55 would work. As was suggested to me, one has to think about heat. If you are running separate bulbs, I think you'd be fine. Same bulb (if possible) with twin 55W lamps will produce too much heat and limit lamp life. I have a single Osram 35/35 bulb, no problems.

ive heard that you dont want to use that full 140 watts on the SEM ignitions cause they will overheat and die. then you get to buy a new stator and flywheel set, ive been there and you dont wanna do that.

I figure when I finally get around to it I will put one light on the front.Which one I put on will be mounted in a place safer than the way I had the other one mounted{more tucked in}don`t need a porch light  .Thanks for the input.Take care and keep the rubberside down.
