Fe 450 .. Just wondering what everyone is running for oil it says in the manual to use motorex 5w40 or 10w50 just wondering Has anyone every used anything besides that with no issues? Like 10w40 or any other name brand oil I can’t seem to find motorex at any stores just online. There’s a Yamaha and Kawasaki dealer in my town the Kawasaki has Kawasaki 10w40 fully synthetic jaso certified oil and Yamaha has some good full synthetic oils that are jaso would they be okay to use ? And is 10w40 ok to use or just 5-40 10-50 Or what is good types oils besides motorex? Thanks

These bikes run hot so 10W-50 is probably best. It seems lots of people use 10W-40 if you read this and other forums.

I use motorex 10W-50 and was out one oil change. It’s not common on the shelf around me. Wound up using 20W-50 V-twin oil and the bike ran fine but my rekluse Z-start pro engagement sucked with the conventional 20W-50. It also dragged at idle much more. Put Motorex back in and it’s normal.

At 35hrs the engine looked great inside. I will keep using Motorex.

It is actually less than a litre of oil. Bergs run well in cold but in warmer countries they run hot so need at least the 50w.....at the same time those that are confident enough to use the e as a starter and not an emergency restart need a 5 or 10w. I use the motorex 10/60 in summer and 10/50 in winter. You need also an oil that works with the clutch. Motorex is becoming too expensive and I'm looking around. Castrol used to have a good one that Berg recommended before the ktm link. You need the range....and clutch compatibility and you still need to change it often........

Has anyone ever used liqui moly racing fully synthetic racing 5w40 ? Would it be good ? Or how is motul 300v 5w40 fully synthetic? Can any of these oil be used ? Price is 19.99 vs 28.99 for 1 litre of motorex

Rotella 15W40 change it 2 to 5 hours of riding, cheap good oil. if a diesel engine can take it for 10000 km, my bike will for sure, for a hour or two. This all I have every used 2t and 4t.

I have read that old timers were on Truck oils 15w40 regular and some were on 5w40 synthetic Dello or rotella t6. So I went with t6 for a few years and I like it,its motorcycle clutch approved. I am also adding "very" small amount of Motorkote additive - just to add a pinch of something extra and I had no clutch slip yet. You may like my post on increased oil capacity. Search 3l engine oil capacity in a Husaberg. I get better filtration, cooler and large capacity in one swoop.

Delo 400 15w-40 API CI4, CH-4, CH-4, SL

Not the newer type Delo type for strict pollution laws rubbish.

Rotella T6 like Polska says is the other one, but I have only used Delo in mine and change it often like 200 to 400km at most with only bush riding, as it's only about 900ml of oil any way.

My last 3 changes have been Silkolene 10-40 full synthetic. I got 4 liters at a really good price. Seemed to be quite good. I have to admit i wasnt working it hard though and pushed the intervals out to 20hrs.
Previously i used motorex full syn cross power 4t 10-50 and i think i will go back to it. The motor "felt" a little less noisy and gear changes smoother

Thanks that's what I just ordered just gonna go with the motorex 10w50 full synthetic to be safe. All though right now I have Kawasaki 10w40 fully synthetic in it and it seemed to work fine no clutch slippage and no funny sounds. I've only had it in for about a hour but I'm gonna switch over to the motorex and see how it feels compared to the Kawasaki 10w40

Where you buy the old certified Delo 400?
How about Motul 300V2 10W-50?
