I have started this poll to see what is the most
and least common oil used by us Husaberg owners.
Delo is an option along with Motorex and Other.
If OTHER, then please specify.
I use Motorex Power Synth 4T 15W 50.
Yea, I know its 3 or 4 times more expensive than Delo
and I know that Delo may be the most popular, but
I won't budge on my preferance as it has worked very
well from the start.

Steve mentioned not to get the LE version( Low Emisions)
I have been on the Chevron website and seen their oils.

I use Motul 15W50 full synthetic racing oil. It isn't the cheapest oil, but now I prefer spending a couple of euros extra on better oil then having a broken angine (wich I have for the moment :doubt: , it broke down on 10W40 fullsynthtic of some brand)

Why dont you bunch of tightwads just buy a decent oil ?

I use motorex crosspower 10/60.
NOT wing wang , Lizard semen or tractor oil because my grandad has a whole drum in the back yard.

Look at it this way. I may well be paying a bit more for a top brand name when others are just as good, but it keeps me happy when ive already paid out £6,000 / $10,000 on a racing machine to pay less per week than a dirtbike magazine to keep my berg regularly changed in quality oil.

Alternatively, you can go down to the store and bulk buy Mazola corn oil . Ive heard this works really well for a while and when the engines written off you can have a damn good fry up !

Hi Pollo,

I use Motul 5100 15W/50. I have used this oil exclusively in my Berg's since 96 and my motors always look like new when they get their pm's.

The Delo LE oil has a certain amount of molybendumdisulphide in it. If memory serves 400ppm?

Anyway, the moly is not supposed to be good with the wet clutches our bikes use.

Whatever oil you use, just be sure and change it often. IMHO your motor oil should not come out black. It should still have some of the color characteristics that it had when it went in, when you are changing it. When I occasionally really use up my oil and it comes out really dark, I will refill the motor and then run it for 15 minutes or so with a fan blowing on the bike and exercise the clutch a bunch to flush the motor out.

You obviously cant win on the oil debate. You're either a tightwad trying to save a buck or a dickwad for paying 3 times the price for motorex which offers no better protection. As DaleEO says, you shouldn't run Delo LE. When we refer to Delo here it is always the DELO400, not gold, not silver, not LE...DELO400. I buy 20 litre drums for $100AU and change my oil at 5 hr intervals. Keep the old oil to top up my turbo diesel 4x4 and use whatevers left in my tractor. No problems here with my berg at over 120hrs so far on the FE550.

I almost put up Motul as an option in the Poll.
NKW570 comments makes sense to me.
Motorex works and our expensive bikes are well worth it.
And Taffy likes it. I believe he mentioned something about it's
well lubricating properties somewhere.
I don't have the knowledge to talk down Motul, Delo or other oil but
was there a reason or problem that we left Motorex as was recommended
and delivered in our Husabergs?( Besides the Delo price)

Probably because they got the contract with KTM? It's a good oil I'm sure though.

aha me too

i use a 5 micron chip bag filter to sift out anything chunky, the tractor loves me for it :D
