Congratulations on the bike, and welcome!
The battery is actually under the seat, buried beneath the ECU plate / fuse box / starter box + fuses. Do you have the owners manual? It shows pretty well how to get to it. If you look around the fusebox and those things, then you can see where the + and - wires go down beneath. You have to loosen the plastic plate that covers the ECU, unhook the fuse box and starter box thing from the rubber loops, and loosen the diagnostic connector. Let the fusebox and stuff hang to the side and lift out the ECU cover plate. You'll probably see the battery at this point
It's probably good to add a charging harness to the battery and hook up a tender from time to time.
