Hey guys,

I got my Porche valve adjustment tool today. It was a good thing I bought two because I had to bend the gauge on one 90 degrees to get into 2 or 3 of the valves. The valves were pretty loose, like maybe .020" or more of clearance. I don't know if that was from the last guy not knowing where to set the valves, but I am hoping it is not a sign of bearing wear. I plan to go riding this weekend then check the clearance after the ride to see if it moves.
Unfortunately, I think I bought a bike with some problems. But if I make it right, I will someday go to Husaberg-Heaven.

Excess valve clearance is usually a clear sign of follower bearing wear. Lesser valve clearance is a clear sign of valve tuliping or valve seat bedding.

Remember that not doing the cam follower bearings results in major failures (my friend just had this happen to him on his 02 650).
