Hey guys im new to this site, and i have searched for valve adjustment and found a good post but it didnt work for me:p

I know i have to get the piston at top before i can adjust them, i put the bike in 6th gear and turned the wheel to the piston was at top and the norwegian husaberg dealer told me to turn the valves all the way inn and then 45 degrees out, or 1/8 turn, but it didnt seem to ever stop when i turned them inn, so then i tried another way, i turned the wheel so when the exhaust valves was at top and the inlet valves was at bottom i adjusted the exhaust valves and then did the same with inlet valves, but i havent startes up the bike yet, so was wondering if its possible to do it this way to? And how do i know the piston is at top? I have seen people use screwdrivers in the sparkplug hole, do you just have to feel when its on top?

Sorry for my bad english:p

I've used a dowel down the spark plug hole on its own. Ive also done the same with a dial indicator. Have the covers off, watch for the intake to close, then watch the dowel and stop when it comes up as high as it comes. I like to remove the stator cover and use a socket and short Johnson bar to turn it over. Hope this helps.
I also use a small screwdriver and two fingers to sense when the tappet screw contacts the valve. If you don't pay attention and you are cranking the screwdriver, you can compress the spring. Once you make contact, turn back 1/6 of a turn and you should be good.

Hello Mir,
There are a lot of threads here on that subject but I will share with you.
The way I do it is plug out , bike in sixth and use a thick zip tie to get it close by feeling the piston rise the highest. Then with left cover off to get perfect TDC you turn the crank until the leading edge of the staple is in line with the center of the crank and the lower edge of the left cover screw hole. Its 9 oclock position.
Then loosen tappet nuts. I mark where they were to know how they have been doing.
Turn the screws in until they just stop. If they are continuing to turn in then you have a bigger problem. Or they were real loose. I wouldnt just try another method. This method is good.
Once screw in then back out 1/6th and torque nut 11nm. watch the screw making sure it doesnt move when torquing..
If so adjust to get the 1/6th after torque.

Tanks for the answear:) I managed to adjust them now so everythings good:) I guess it will be easyer next time im doing it:)
