Well, I have my 01 650 up and running. I'll plate it in the next week or two. I've done the stator, cam, cut the valves and seats, cam chain, cam sprocket and the valve springs. After the initial startup I had a few aluminum flakes in the filter. I've run it for another hour around our 1/3 mile track going through all the gears and getting on the throttle progressively harder. Changed the oil and it came out fine with no metal or anything. I haven't figured out the kick start procedure yet but I can start it on those button from cold. Is there anything I need to watch for or listen for on the engine that will indicate impending doom? Maybe I'm paranoid but I'm really liking this bike and want to make it last. Thanks in advance

Btw ...looking for a side stand for the beast.
