Hello I have 550 '05 supermoto and it needs a new piston.
I would like to now what can I change to get more power out off it?
Some 450 are pulling away from me out off the corners and im not happy whit that.

Thanks Husaracer

Have you tried jetting the bike? Your 550 should be smoking the 450's with ease in the straights.

If the 450cc rider only weight about 40kg, then its hard to catch them if we normal built persons (+80kg) only have a 550cc.

You should out run them due to the 550cc is normally a powerfull bike in the midrange powerband.
Check as mentioned before the settings in the carb.

But it can also be a rider problem, the 450cc S1 class is today faster than S2 on most tracks.

then it's your gearing. you need to come out of critical corners right in the meat of the power in the right gear. gearing is worth 10hp.

I had a look at my mj and its a 190.
Thats to big according to the owners manual because there should be a 182 mj in it.
I did a little search here and read most of you run 160 - 165 mj's.
I live in the Netherlands and that below or at sea level.
Should I go for a 165 mj or take a smaller step?
