So what do people use for rear "Tugger" straps? After my ride this weekend I can see the need for one. I've searched a bit and agree with what I've found...the sheet rock like screws that go into the sub frame are certainly not strong enough.

So how about using a dog collar that just loops under the rear seat through the grab handle pass through. I was thinking this would be an easy solution.

Thoughts?

(sorry for the misspelling in my subject line)

I drilled a hole through the fender and used bolts in place of the screws. Once I got over the pain of drilling a hole in my fender, it has worked great.

here is what I did. I built this over a year ago and its held up great. Took it apart just for you. When you get the strap adjusted right so that the seat comes on and of ok, then stick a rivet with washers through the strapping so that the strap stays tight. The only complaint I have is that the strap ideally should be further back on the bike for better leverage, but I'm 5'6" and drop my bike a lot in precarious places and this has saved me a ton of energy.
5/16 self tapping screw with 3/8 hex head. Predrill hole. The rest was about an hour of dremel work and countersinking tuggr washer.

Interesting. These pics help a ton. Thank you very much for pulling it all apart.
