well put my bike on ebay the other day.

was a bit of a impulse thing as i'm in two minds about selling it.

it's really been more hassle than it's worth and some of the questions that have been asked i've had to be rather restrained in answering.

have a look at the questions and my answers. particularly like the one who offers me £1350 now or he'll win it for £1250 in 4 days time. Up until he said that he had my attention.

little does he know that some of the questions i haven't listed are also offering me about the £1350 - £1400 mark

anyway i'm sure i'll probably be offered more pieces of crap cars and the like before the end of the auction, so watch this space for ever more cutting responses to stupid questions.

i know its sad but i've just gone thru the husabergs listed on ebay uk half of them, shall we say the sellers are being optomistic about the age. so i contacted them and pointed out the errors in their adverts.

from the replies think the guy with what looks like the pre-2000 engine in a '03 chassis really doesn't know what he's got.

yet there are what appears to be a couple of really nice bikes there as well. the 98-99 fc600 looks nice as does a fs 650 done out with black graphics.

Your bike looks terrific, and I wish you luck with the sale. FWIW, I've bought and sold bikes on eBay here in the states...5 or 6 transactions so far...with acceptable results each time.

I have also seen some bikes, both Husaberg and KTM, that were advertised as being newer than actual. Probably happens with all brands, but these are the ones in which I'm familiar with the nuanced visual clues. At least one of those times, I'm sure it was unintentional, as the guy posted my question and answered with an apology and a clear amendment to the ad.

if you sell the 400.. gis the sump tray... if they don't know what they are even looking at, they won't notice the sump tray missing!!!! I need one for my 501. give you the money for it at IOM!
also.. in ad you said you fitted new carb. was that as replacement for dell orto like one fitted on mine. i have never liked dells..prefer amal carbs as they are easiest things in world to set up! but kei hins are fairly easy.

yeah replaced the dellorto with the keihin.

if i do forget to attach the skid plate, and the ignition isolator and the speedo trip buttons plus anything else i think i can get away with, if the bike sells then it'll be going on the next berg. an '06 450 probably.

bikes sold.

£1375 not bad considering i bought it for £1500 nearly 2 yrs ago.
spoke to the buyer, he's got to come up from surrey. nearly a 4hrs drive.
only down side was that i broke the speedo sensor the other day so told him when we spoke and said i'd knock it off the price as its only £20.

so £1355. is still ok. he also asked if i'd flog the black wheels but changed his mind when i told him what i'd sell them for.

scouser, i'm leaving the skid plate on it. its not a very good one. i got it from the chap on ebay who sells the waterpump, exhaust and ignition guards. i had a full set of his mk1 guards. the ones he sells now look better.

now got to get on with the serious business of looking for my next berg.

my babys gone :(

what a sale though. the lads coming up from surrey went the wrong way and a 3.5hr drive became a 6 hr drive.

then i've been running the bike over the last couple of days and each time its started within 3 kicks.

in fact , just an hour before they arrived i took it for a spin and it started 2nd kick.

infront of them it took 15mins and a call to my mechanic to get it going

then he's £100 short as they spent so much on petrol so he goes to the local town to the cash point.

was sad to see it go though. all i can ask is that my next berg gives me half as much fun as this once - with a few less starting issues.

Sir,

Now that you don't own a Berg, you are no longer allowed to post here.

We have begun sanitizing the forum for not only your posts, but any mention of your name.

Also, you're no longer allowed to wear blue or yellow. This includes any undies you might decide to wear.

thanks,
json
