Guys, took the "HID is the way" to go advice and got a Trailtech X2. Coupla questions for those int he know:-

My stock 09 570 ha what looks like a combination fender brace and mounts for the indicators (weren't fitted when i picked her up new). It does not look like the headlight shroud will fit down into that part, between where the indicators would go. What about a simple KTM fender brace, would that work, or is there something i am missing?

Theres instructions abuot moving the wiring plate and fitting their switch, but my AUS spec bike seems do already do what you need with the stock switch, with positions for off/low beam/low beam and high beam together already, without having to miss about. Again am i missing something here?

The Trailtech fits fine on my USA spec 09. There are no signal mounts .
I don't know if you can use the OEM headlight switch since the HID runs straight off the battery.

Umm well this is the part i am talking about. It looks like a fender brace and indicators mount. I assume the Trailtach wants to bolt down onto those 2 screws onto the lower triple clamp. My unit willnot fit between those 2 black vertical arms on the left and right. If it was a fender brace like a KTM one, it prolly would fit.

I used the KTM fender Brace.Under the stock head light mount there are 2 pins moulded into the fender that the Trail Tech light fits over.

yup, did the same thing works fine :D

That looks like a plan then!! Can i assume any year brace will do?

Also means i will get rid of the stock fender brace, that still has remnants of roo stuck in it!

Sorry guys, still looking for opinions on the Trailtech supplied switch. Is it possible that the std switch and wiring are not rated high enough for the HID unit, even though it all worked fine when i tried it? Would it burn our eventually or something?

If the switch only supplies the ground, I think I would give it a shot. I would run the positive straight off the battery.

Sorry Berger, that sounds double dutch to me. I just grip it and rip it! Electrics? Um maybe not!

I used the one supplied by Trailtech, figured there must be a reason otherwise why bother supplying it given the kit is model specific :?:

That seems fair enough Gazza. I'll just follow their instructions and see how that goes.

And cheers on the fender brace info. Now i wonder who has one and what price will they charge? Causeway or Matt at Wanneroo????

No problem using the Husaberg switch. I don't think the HID even pulls as much power as the stock light anyway. Mine has been fine for 2 years.

Sorry to ressurect this thread...
I just bought an X2 light, and my fender brace has the single post in the middle. The X2 requires the 2 pins... Can anyone tell me which fender brace will work with the X2 and the stock fender? And the switch... Husaberg stock switch or the Trailtech replacement?
All advice is appreciated...

Thanks, but offroadboss doesn't ship to Canada. I've tried them before.
I'm just looking for confirmation on which fender brace I need so I can get it locally...
