Gday All,
I’m considering fitting a TrailTech Vapor Digital Gauge to my 05 FS650e. These USA gauges come with speedo, tacho and temp display/sensors so I thought It might be good to have. Have any of you ever come across or fitted them ??

I fitted a TrailTech Vapor to my Yamaha TT250. It is excellent. It has never let me down and I have plenty of falls.
It has some neat features like retaining Maximum Engine Temp, Max Speed, Max Revs. It also has a handy Clock and Temperature Gauge and records ride time and ride distance.

It has 2 lights you can set for different functions. I used 1 light to come on for High Engine Temp.

My mates I ride with are always asking how far have we gone and how hot is it.

They are easy to set up too, although I had to make a little Aluminium bracket for the speed sensor on the front wheel as TrailTech dont make a TT250 kit. Think I used a WR250 kit.
 
As above i think the Trailtechs are a great piece of kit. Never had a problem with mine and found the two programable shift lights very handy as well as the two temp warning lights.

I have two 'bergs, and each have a Trailtech Vapor. Obviously I'm sold on them. Having said that, I'd probably go with a Vector instead. They are the same, except the Vector does not have a tach or the related shift point lights. The tach is, for me, the least important feature. They both have a temp guage, which is the most important feature to me.

If you ride a lot near the upper limits, then you might really use the tach. Either way, you can't go wrong. Also, the KTM specific units will work for you, although I'm not sure if a different model is needed for motards.

By all accounts the VT is really good and stands up to a fair hiding. A number of my members use them as a cheaper alternative to OEM gear and/or incorporate them as part of MX bike Rec Reg abilities.
There is a new provider in Oz for all things MX/Enduro and he has some good specials on the VT so certainly worth checking out.

There a great unit have had one for about 6 months no dramas with anything working as described on box. give great info on rpm and temps and shift lightand warning light get your attention very easy even though they are small. The only real problem i have had is the magnet (husaberg one) on disk may not be as close as it should be and sometimes loses it speed above 165km i think this is caused by the beringer floating disk on the motards.
