I think the direct coil connection mentioned in the TrailTech manual refer to connecting to systems where the CDI is separate to the coil. The tach connects to the primary winding of the coil - ie the connection wires between the CDI & coil.
On the Husaberg combined CDI/coil unit, this connection point is not available. The wires going into it are the charging and trigger coils. If you connect the TrailTech to any of these (including the orange wire kill circuit) you get much more than the required one pulse per engine rev & the tacho reads wildly high.
I tried all theCDI input wires when I fitted mine & found that only the spark plug wire wrap would work.
