I have a 09 fe450 and need new brake pads front and rear.

The original pads that came with the bike have a toyo and brembo stamp on the back or the pads.

Are these pads brembo or toyo?

I have searched extensively on the net and spoken dealers etc and no one has been able to give me an answer.

I cannot find the manufacturer of "toyo pads"

If I get the genuine ktm pads they have the ktm stamp on the back but nothing about brembo or toyo so i am not sure if they are the same.

I want the same as the original. The life I got out of them was amazing and way better than any other brake pad I have used.

Thanks in advance.

Seriously, does no one know anything.

This is the second thread I have done relating to this topic on this forum and Ktm talk and not one repyy.

Does no one ever use genuine pads once they go through their original pads.

The only reason I am after the info is that I got easy 2500 Klms out of a set and no other pads that I have used in the past have even come close to that kind of mileage and thats with plenty wet weather riding thrown in.

I now genuine are more expensive but in the long run they actually cheaper

I use 'genuine KTM' branded pads from my local dealer and as you say, are not marked toyo or brembo but do wear alot better than any aftermaket pads.

Just found this uk site for brembo's - so they must exist!

http://www.biketorqueracing.co.uk/brake ... _pads.aspx

Looking on brembo's website the closet match is for a 450 FE 2005 (are the pads the same for an 09?) with a part number of 07BB04SD - the SD denoting sintered, which is the same pt no. as for ktm exc's as per the above web link. (Brembo do not list an official oz distributer on their website)

not much more help but thats all I can do in my lunch break!
