Hi all,
I just installed a Scotts damper on my 2012 FE390. I took a number of photos as I went just to make sure everything went back together the same way it came off, I'm an expert at forgetting how to put things back together. So after fighting with the forks and top triple clamp for about 45 minutes to get it back on (HUGE learning curve, second time will be much easier) I finally got around to bolting the triple clamps on. Looking at the manual I read this:
"The upper milled groove in the fork leg must be flush with the top edge of the upper triple clamp"
However, when I refer back to the pictures I took at the beginning, I can see the triple clamps are level with the SECOND milled groove, not the first. I've put it together the same was it was, level with the second groove, but my question is should I be worried about this? I purchased the bike new so it was delivered to me with the clamps level with that second groove. Did the dealer screw up, or am I worrying about nothing?
Thanks for your help!
