Just did a carb clean and leaned out the pilot jet 2 sizes and richened up the needle one clip.
the bike starts much better. 02 fe400.

I Was doing a late night oil change and just noticed the headers glowing red. First time the bike has ran at night so not sure if it is normal or not. This is after idling 3 mins no choke in and out of gear a few times.

Is this normal or too hot?

I don't have a baseline to compare to. Also what's the best way to get an idea of temp for these bikes to know if your temp is in line?

Thx

That could be normal. Kind of a general rule for those bikes is to not let them idle for more than a minute. Keep an eye on the header pipe and see if you get any discoloration of the chrome. That would be a better indication.
