Cheers all!
Where do you recommend me to buy titanium valves? Kibblewhite seems like the obvious alternative, but I would appreciate any other ideas as the swedish importer is less fun to work with. I´m looking for 40mm intake valves with 6mm stem, if possible.

Thanks!

Thanks! I´ve found a couple of companies. Now it´s up to their delivery time... Broke a valve at the dyno this morning = expensive (piston, seats, valves, guides, sleeve, rod). :(

kibblewhite or Del-West.

Ferrea you must use a lash cap and have the valve treated with Casidium lest they last only a few hours.

Unless you plan on 10,000 RPM plus and using an OE camshaft Ti is not necessary.

Hello Dale!
I thought you´d allways need either a lash cap or a steel tip when using Ti-valves?

I saw signs of valve bounce on the tips of my stainless 40mm intake valves (fitting a Porsche GT3). The engine wouldn´t rev much further than 8500rpm and the power was fluctuating from 8k and up. The OEM-springs were new and I´m using the #62-cam. So I ground the valves to reduce the weight, with an clear negative impact on life length... So here I am, thinking Ti-valves are the only possible solution... Any help in this trouble-shooting is much appreciated.

The last time I tried Ti-valves, they lasted almost a whole... weekend.

Del-West valves are used by Factory KTM and Husaberg. Said valves feature a steel tip insert, Casidium face and "BIG" price tag.

Kibblewhite valves have a Stellite tip.

Reducing valve rates via the camshaft will allow 37 mm SS Intakes to see 10,500 RPM with a low pressure dual spring kit.

Hope this helps.

what the fine gentleman means is that: get5 a good camshaft vin there with mild/nice lift speeds - you don't need ti you can use stainless steel and buy from his ol mucker - mr kibblewaite and you'll still see all the revs your engine will ever want.

less bullshyte and bling. money still in the ol racing budget for the next expensive toy.

:D I heard it the first time and I agree totally! My repositioned valves called for new rockers with larger ratio = 1,5 mm increased max lift. That makes of course harsh ramping even worse. I´ll look deeper into the cam profile issue. Thanks for the concern about my racing budget, Taffy! Send me a sticker to put on the bike, there is plenty of advertising space... :D
