What I would like to know is if you have a 09 or 10 FE450, F 570 and have ridden a FE390, if you could do it all over again, would you buy your bike or would you go for the FE390?

The reason is I am currently looking into getting a 09 FE570 and want to make sure I get the right bike the first time. Thanks in advance for all your feedback.

I think it will depend a lot on where you do most of your riding. If you do a lot of ridingin the more open stuff the 570 will be better. Although I did not ride the 390 at FR 3 ( I should have darn it!) I have found that my 570 works great on everything from open desert to tight trails.

I WAS AT THE FORCE RIDE AND RODE ALL THE BIKES. I"M A 570 RIDER ! IT DOES EVERYTHING !

Most of my riding will be best suited for a 570. But when I do single track, I'm sure it will do just fine. My current bike is a 950 Super Enduro. So between these two, I have 99% of my riding covered. Thanks DaleEO. I appreciate your posts. I just dont want to hear "I wish I would have gotten a 390". It sounds like this will be a great bike.

If you buy the FE390, you will eventually say " I wish I would have bought a FE570" Even though the FE390 will probably exceed every expectation you have for an off road bike, the FE570 just does everything so much better, even the tight stuff. IMHO

Well, I finally got the front end dialled in for my riding on the 570 (woods, ruts etc in UK).
i did a 4 hour enduro at the weekend. it was the perfect course for the 570, woods sections with open field blasts in between and conditions were dry.
i had the mapping on aggressive/full power mode.
I covered 48miles over two hours and still had a litre left in the tank, so i was very pleased with the mileage at race pace.
The bike behaved superbly throughout, i never hit the deck once or even had a moment, the bike was so surefooted, it was a pleasure to ride.
The course was not that hard as the ground was dry, hardly any boggy or slippery bits but i was not at all tired at the end of the four hours and i put that down to the bike.
I came 2nd in class and clocked the 5th fastest lap time out of 100 riders.

Just to satisfy myself, I will be riding the 570, 450 and 390 back to back on enduro course in December. And taking lap times.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi NKW570,

Do you have the stock triple clamps or the 22 mm offset?

I got home last night and laying on my pillow was a brand new issue of "Dirt Rider" . I'm like a child when I get that Magazine! There within the prestigious post, you will find an excellent write up from Mr Jimmy, about his FE390 adventures at the Romaniacs Enduro. Then if you flip back a few more pages you will find a brief long term ride report on the FE570. They echo my exact sentiments, and they even have the same set-up on their FE570, including the Dunlop 803 TT! I feel vindicated!!!!!

Sounds good, Once I dial in my suspension, there might not be a need for a 22.
