Everywhere I go I'm the only Husaberg around. Marysville (Estreet), Argyl lPark, Club Moto, everywhere. In a way its cool not riding what everyone else is (although the new KX450F is a nice bike). Is this the same for you guys? All the tracks and trails, are you the only Husaberg out there?

I got the only one in the area I am in. Bike types take notice but the general population still makes a big deal out of the stupid KTM my GF has. Oh well. Best kept secret if you ask me. I really like having something different.

I've come across a few Bergs at enduro's and motocross events, including a Berg engined quad. Still not met up with a Berg while out riding though. Very few bikers seem to notice its something different, some think its a suzuki!! others jujst see the HUS and assume its Husky. They say igonrance is bliss so there must be a lot of happy bikers out there............... not including us happy few who do know.

A funny coincidence.

I picked my new bike up on a Thursday (FE 570 ) road it a bit around home (in the bush) played with the suspension settings, I was ready to go! Saturday morning 6.00 am trailered it 90 kms out of Perth to a secluded bush spot and parked the car. 50m or so away was another group of guys just unloading their machines and you wouldn't believe it one of the bikes was a new 570, the guy had picked it two days before me and was on his first ride too.
We had a quick chat and went our separate ways.

Steve

I love my new bike!!

I like having people look at me and ask "what kinda bike iz zat?" I have infected a couple other guys with berg flu so there is an 00 FE 501E and an 08 Fe650e running around here. Oh crap there is an 03 FE 650e next door at my dads too ! Bugger they're like rabbits turn your back for a moment and you get hand fulls. Anyone that truely appreciates and Knows performance machinery, knows when they throw a leg over one it is something exceptional. Nor Cal is just a little behind the curve.

It was like that last year very few breg's around but this year first ride of the year about 9 or 10 berg's all the model years down to a 1996.First Hare Scramble on Sunday and about 5 or 6 breg's including a 09.
When I bought mine last year you would see one off and on but now it seems that everywhere I go I will see one.The year before that it was a sea of orange go figure.

Yup, same here, its all I ride with...makes sense though, the local dealer has sold close to 40 09 units. berg heaven here.

Here in Denmark they are very rare.... On the only big 2nd hand MC site there's only 2-5 for sale at ant time !!! And they are way to expensive with the taxsystem here....

Mine is black with no Husa signs.... So it takes an enthusiast to recognise it, and thats excatly what i was looking for.... As long as "the others" get them selves a nasty surprise when i fly across at green light on one wheel.

If you wanted something "normal" and probably an easier ownership you would have bought yourself a KTM og Husky.... not to mention Japs.

Hope I didn't open "a can" now !!

Let some ride your Berg they will get the Bergbug then you'll see more. I was at Stonyford on a Tuesday can up a hill to meet another Husaberg almost head on. Then the guy digging my water line was bragging about his 501 it tons of power. I also come across old guys on quads now they give you a beer and start to tell about the old Husky 500 they had. How they lost riding buddies because no one wanted to be behind roosting husky.

me and 2 buds were riding along a trail and come upon 2 gents, 1 was on a yam and the other on a ktm. the gentleman on the ktm looks at me and says ... "are those Chinese bikes?" we just smiled and nodded then the 3 chinese husabergs rode off.

"are those Chinese bikes?" That is so funny. I havent heard that one yet, but I'm sure its soon to come. When people ask what kind of dirt bike I have and I say Husaberg, they always give a puzzled look. Very MX track has Yam, Suz, Kaw and Hon and three KTM's.

I guess NOR CAL is behind the times....

As Fedge said, our first ride of the season we showed up and there were almost as many Bergs as there were KTM's...think we out numbered the Husky's. Second ride was a local HS, were a few Bergs there as well...I managed to eat a tree and DNF'd, ouch.

I park my FE450 out front of my shop on the days I ride to work and have had a few local guy's ask me what it is. I try to explain that it originated in Sweden, but most folks dont even know what a Husqvarna is these days never mind a Husaberg LOL at least in Canada....the one guy said " So its a Husqvarna...thought they made CHAINSAWS " thats when I gave up and used the dreaded KTM referance and he said " Oh I've seen one of those KTM things before "

I got my first KTM in the late '80s. At the time they were just about unheard of in Oz. I can still remember the conversations over the phone trying to insure it:

"What type of bike is it?"
"A KTM250"
"Yes, but who makes it?"
"KTM"
"I understand it is a KTM something or other, but who makes it?"
"Honda"
"Ok. That'll cost...." (more than the bike did!)

Funny, now KTMs are ROTM.
An unusual bike can make you smile in more ways than one!
