As I had hoped for, most of our friends decided to take advantage of the epic riding conditions and beautiful weather. Teanaway would be at its best.
All together 9 rigs, and roughly 20 friends showed up. Friday night did require a "recon" trip farther up the Teanaway valley in search of Fro. Text messages from him earlier should have put him in camp long ago. It wasn't very difficult spotting a 40ft diesel pusher where a 40ft diesel pusher does not belong! All were found and now at camp!
In the morning we checked out some new toys and gizmos.
Barry showing us just how light the Freeride is. Or how strong Barry is?
Bruno and Bethany's baby Lillian may have to wait a little while longer to ride Bergy . . .
Our group starts to gather for the ride.
After several miles of good trail, we eventually make our way on to the ridge top. This is where the primitive stuff starts.
The ridge trail rides along the spine for miles. Sometimes in the cool of the shade, and other times on barren treeless slopes.
Bruno and his 530 fighting their way to the top of Jolly mountain.
Our group of advanced riders kept up a great pace. To add to this, Yellow Hill seems to be becoming a little more friendly. Part of the group takes a break.
After only 2 hours we reach the summit of Jolly Mountain. Twice as fast as last Fall's rainy trip.
After descending off of Jolly Mountain the group split up. Some were ready for camp.
The remaining few still had more to come . . .
