tapping noise help please

hey guys wel this is my first post so hope i do it right baisicly i have reacently got myself a 2008 husaberg 450! love the bike its great seems to run spot on and goes very well but when on idel or low revs you can here a very slight tapping noise? one person did tell me maybe its my valves. im not to sure though its not a very fast tempo tapping. but its enuff to make me consernd any help would be appreciated

alsou forgot to mention when the bike is cold the electric start seems to just make noise and and not turn the engine over but once hot it starts the bike every time

your starter clutch makes a whizzing noise when that slips and the starter sprague makes a 'ca-haa !' noise when that slips. I sell a kit that cures that you can try.

as for the slapping noise, well we need to know the age but it is typical of a well worn Husaberg. I've never cured that noise on its own - it just comes right after a rebuild but I think piston is a good one.

its not a slapping mate its just like a tappity noise on idle i was thinking valves any idea? on how to adjust them? its a 2008 450 mate chears

there are pages and pages on checking the tappets here. there is a mention in 'the doc' but best do a search.

still no real idea what it is I'm afraid. I'm in Ely if you ever get fed up trying to fathom it.
