Hi guys

I whant to share this with you, I rebuid a FE400E_02 from scratch, new paint, new plastics, new wiring, all of Taff mods to the engine like a torque cam, new autodecomp, dual spring kit, ported head, new piston, new conrod, beefy start, taff sledge, stator from sparks, new wheels, new disk brakes, new... neww... a can't remenber...

The thing just would not run nicely.

Then I bought a FCR 39 MK2, but before I install it thought, lets change this exaust...

I cut the spark arrestor out and opened the exit to a +/- 45mm, whent for a ride and "VOID LA"

There you have a new bike, it changed completly.

Now I can see where my money whent !!!

So take that thing out of your exaust

I love the pic of the tools...weapons of exhaust destruction! Good job Zaga

I also have a FE400 and the first thing I did was hacking out that girly looking flow restricting piece of crap metal plate at the end of my exhaust pipe.
Never rode it with it still on,so I can't tell the difference.
How would opening up the diameter of the pipe affect things?

So your the noisy SOB who burned down the forest 8O :)

Im not that convinced that doing away with that bit of pipe etc would suddenly correct the problems you had?

Im no berg expert but with all the work youve done, it should run great without an exhaust chop down. Is there not somethin else amiss that the cut down exhaust has kinda covered up?

Im just thinkin out loud, feel free to cut me down... :bounce:

I might be missing something...
But the fact is one moment it wasen't working wel (start good everything ok, but no power and lot of hesitation on low to mid rev), and then without touchung anything else, even not touching the carb, it was going very good. :!:
