Right I have this UK road legal Husaberg fe450e 2007 all is well within just tail light stopped working! I have checked the bulb seems okay! I mean it is as I tested it with the multimeter! Where do I look from here? I'm shy of going out now as I don't want to get done for lack of tail light! I mention that front light works both high beam as well low! Many thanks in advance!

There are two 10 amp fuses. Checked them, indeed just visually even though I had the multimeter at hand. Just lookin at them they seemed alright! Thank you for your help! Any more ideas?

Check the ground. Check connections .....check continuity through each wire (checking for a break).

Thank you! Will do even though I'm kinda clueless as to how to...

It's the arduous task of grabbing your wiring diagram and finding all of the ground points then making certain wires are 1) connected to a clean surface; 2) unbroken; and 3) connected at the other end. Easy, but time consuming.

^ This is it! Begin with the easiest. If all the wires are good and the grounding is OK, you should check up other components.

Okay where do I find the wiring diagram? Hold it! I found it in the spare parts manual chassis. Still not getting my head around it! Am staring at it maybe I'll come up with something ! Cheers you guys for the help and patience!

Oh nooo! That's just the harness diagram... not the wiring, could someone please point me to where I download it from?

A simple but not correct fix for you. Run a wire from your headlight power to the back of the bike and hook it to the tail light. Make sure it is the power wire before the high low beam switch if you have one.

Other choice is to check each wire with a multi-meter for resistance, use ohm meter. I would check the wire to the tail light to make sure I have a ground and make sure I have power as the socket could be the issue. You need to rule out one thing at a time. Do you know someone with a good understanding of electrical? It will be hard if you don't understand the terms and the procedures as if not you might miss something simple.

Had a similar problem. Since lose a screw that holds the red lens cover moisture was getting into light fixture. After doing a little sanding and bathing WD-40 all was good... for a couple days.

Took a second look after removing fixture... and saw corrosion was actually in the back of the fixture where the wires were coming in. Again... WD-50 and a brush took care of it.

Problem is normally simple.

where are you from?

you'll have three wires to the taillight. the brown is the earth. there is usually a green if I recall and a lilca. the last two are the live feeds and the brown is the return.

get yourself a test light. it looks like a screwdriver with a bulb inside. with the crocodile clip to the battery earth you can start checking things. you can't do it just by looking at it!

I am in Oxford, UK! Thanks for the help mate! :)

Rob, the sidecar guy I sponsor is from Shipton-under-Wychwood. I'm going to be there Easter Saturday. I'll have my trailer with me - for a sidecar - what else!

Taffy
