hi all, need a new swingarm bearing kit and was wondering if these are available for an 04 fe 550, or do you have to buy genuine parts??

Swing-arm bearing kit..

Hi, madpugs...
I just take bearings and seals to a local bearing supplier. Most are stamped with the manufacturers name, some have the spec number stamped on the edge. The parts manual for your year may have the bearings identified with manufacturers number, and a good bearing house can work over the phone with you to identify the sizing. The "Owners Doc!" on the left sidebar may have the info for the replacements in the parts page.

I have replaced them in a 04 550 some time ago.I looked in a few bearing shops and didnt have much luck. What I ended up doing because genune replacements were costly, was I found a bearing that was 1mm wider than originals that was cheap as.

I cut down the aluminium spacer that sits between the 2 bearings in the swing arm to allow for the extra width of wider bearings that I found.I was in a hurry to get the bike on the road again, so this seemed to work for me and was cheap.
