I want to run my Suter Slipper on my 550 2002,
But i noticed that the 2002 clutch isn't tighned with a nut
like the 2004 and later types.
But there is only a clip ring on the primary shaft

Can somebody tell me iff i can run the suter on
this 2002 clutch ????

if i have worked out the forces correctly, the drum is being driven away from the pressure plate so there is no loading at the clip but with the suter clutch there would be.

because people always need "USED" gears on a Husaberg I have some 2003 clutch shafts here. if you get a 2003 clutch drum, tab washer and nut, also the clutch steels I think you could be in business Menno!

regards

Taffy

I have used this setup with no problem. Just the circlip on the shaft.

the 2004 clutch is already in this engine (it is my old engine)

Great

i asked this because Suter advice a preload on the clutch Drum nut.

Thanks for the Info

My 2007 FS frame/forks/brakes with the 2002 engine
high comp, no balancer, DVSK with a Suter
I'm going to use this hybride for track days SM

that engine also has a 8/33 camshaft (ktm 525 race cam) and the upgraded clutch&cover. Hope you enjoy it :)

It didn't shake as much as a thought, running without balancer ,
but the cranck is rebalanced.
Ii ran it for two weeks in a 2005 550 frame, checking the engine .
Nice that the olld engine is used/abused again .
Now i put it in a 2007 FS frame, better handling better SM set up , because off tripple tree , shorter rear fork, and better front brake, Suspension is
also better on the 2007 .
I'll take it too the erzgebirg ring, Villars ,Mettet, Spa and a few dutch SM tracks

The 8/33 cam , what is it s strong points ??

What did you have to do to cam to get it to work? What power range is it?

Very simple :p
Use a hacksaw to get the extension for the waterpump impellor off (on 525 engines it is on the cam)
then it just slips right in.
the cam is very strong in the mid range and revs good too, best cam I tried

KTM partnr 59036110000
