I am looking in to doing a revalve on my 02 fe501. I was thinking about giving it a try myself. I am considering using the Race-tech gold valve fork kit and shock kit. I will also need to change the fork springs to about a .54 rate I believe. I have already changed the rear shock spring to a 11.4 straight rate. I weigh apprx.325lbs at 6'3".

Race-tech does not list the kits for my bike but I am pretty sure it has the same 43mm forks as the KTM and the same 50mm rear shock. I would appreciate if someone could clarify this for me.

I was wondering if this sounded like a good idea. Is the racetech kit the way to go or should I look elsewhere or just work with the stock valving?

I am also going to replace the front and rear wheel bearings. I think these should match the bearings for the same year model KTM but was wondering if anyone knew for sure.

I appreciate all input and thanks in advance.

i believe the katoom runs 43s?

if you really have tried everything with the raer clicks then yes a revalve is next. don't know how good the rear shock work will be but they are highly rated even on katoomtalk. the 54s seem light but i don't think when you get them that they would be. job to say. there are loads of big lads suspension settings available at the top of the ktmtalk.com suspension section. it's in a section called a 'pin it'.

regards
