3 out of 6 subframe bolts are seized and just spinning in the mouldings for the tank and the rear subframe.

any ideas how to get them out ? as i can't get the tank off until they're out.

Your need 2 torx bits. The rod that the torx bolts into goes through the subframe and is spinning on the other side. Hold the one side while unscrewing the other. Once you get one side out you will be able to see a flat on the rod that will accept a wrench so you can hold it to remove the other side.

cheers, i had assumed they were moulded in captive nuts as in the back of the subframe.

The left and Right hand side front ones screw into the Frame.
The middle Right and Left Hand Side ones screw into the Fuel Tank.
The Back 2 screw into the Subframe.

I thought they were all captive too, sounds like they have been overtightened maybe?
I hope Bergers suggestion works otherwise you are in a spot of bother.

Something to check is, the back 2 bolts into the Subframe are longer (26mm) than the other 4 into the Fuel Tank (20mm) and Frame (20mm). Just wondering if the longer 26mm ones were screwed into the wrong spots and caused an issue?
Also the captive nuts in the Subframe go right through to hold the rear tail light bracket thing on. They are the 2 x 6mm bolts. You might be able to put a spanner on those 6mm bolts to remove the Subframe bolt above.

Subframe Bolts:
14 0019080206 COUNTER-SUNK SCREW ISA45 M8X20
15 0019080266 COUNTER-SUNK SCREW ISA45 M8X26

if you get an old 12mm spanner, i say old because you might have to grind it flat abit, you can squeeze it down between the subframe and the tank, or if you can get one side a little bit loose put a spanner on the tube that runs through the tank there's too flat parts on the tube. I had the same problems, every time i remove those bolts now i put grease on the threads. :bounce3:
Hope this helps.
mark.

thanks for all the advice but it was mark2e0 who came up with the winning solution. cheers I owe you one.

what bloody nightmare this would have been even if they were not seized, a far cry from my ktm which was off in 3 bolts and about 2 mins !
